Construction has commenced on a new 3,000 sq. ft. medical centre at Church Lane, Bedford.
The new facility is being delivered by Coplan Estates Limited, the council’s development partner for this neighbourhood centre, which has seen a substantial upturn in visitors, since the opening of the Aldi food store in the summer of 2010. The new medical centre once completed will provide 5 consulting rooms and a high specification treatment room that will be able to facilitate minor operations.
Colin McQueston, Director of Coplan Estates says “We are delighted to have started construction on this important local facility, which is the second Phase of the regeneration of this important district centre.
Janice Potter, Practice Manager of Dr Fenske and Partners says, “The provision of this facility at Church Lane, will allow us to provide healthcare services where it is needed, right into the heart of the local community.
Dr Fenske and Partners existing practice at 2 Goldington Road will remain unaffected and work is due to complete by the end of October 2014.
